Visit La Gomera Island
La Gomera, is the second-smallest of the Canary Islands measuring barely 20 kilometres from north to south, with rugged volcanic mountains crisscrossed with hiking trails. In higher altitudes, the mist feeds the dense forests of ferns and moss-covered trees grow in Garajonay National Park. Towards the coast, the Valle Gran Rey canyon leads past the whitewashed cliffside village of La Calera and ends at black-sand Atlantic beaches.
La Gomera, known as ``Isla Mágica`` (the magical island) and is both peaceful and beautiful. It is an ecological treasure, and its coast is dotted with small black sandy beaches set between cliffs, a paradise for nature lovers, and those seeking seclusion.
Its wild, mountainous landscape is ever changing, in just a few kilometres you go from palm-covered valleys to huge canyons; from arid coastal areas with waters ideal for scuba diving, to fascinating forests, crammed with vegetation.
